9:00 am-12:00 pm: One-Stop Shop
University Store, main floor, Olsen Student Center

After checking in, why go to the One-Stop Shop? This is where you will get your student ID but it’s worth your time to explore all the tables at the One-Stop Shop. There will be people from many offices around campus to get all your questions answered in one place. And don’t forget to look through our University Store for all the UMF swag you can purchase.

Karaoke is popular on our campus and so are board games! Come join us and meet others and have some fun.


Saturday, January 18

Saturday will include important student training sessions to help you prepare for the start of classes, and activities to help you find UMF Beavers with similar interests.

Here’s a list of what you can look forward to:

  • All Beavers Belong! (This is an important student training and opportunity to connect with others and help you find your people.)
  • Title IX Training (This is required for all students so we encourage you to do it during orientation since you’re here already. A Zoom option will be available for any of our off-campus cohorts or remote learners.)
  • You’ve Got Questions, Beavers Got Answers (This is an opportunity to ask current students any questions you have.)
  • Navigating Our Websites (Learn about the internal UMF websites you’ll need to know how to use as a student.)
  • Finding Your Classes & Learning Campus

  • Sledding & Hot Chocolate
  • UMF Free Movie Night @ Narrow Gauge Cinema, downtown 91ÊÓƵ

These two days will focus on helping you connect with other students, relax, and have some fun before classes begin.

  • Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Movie: King in the Wilderness: The Last Years of MLK Jr.’s Life and essay contest information.)

  • Sledding
  • Residential Hall Floor Meetings (required on Monday evening for all residential students)
